This place is great. Instructors Matt and Scott are very patient and knowledgeable with the students and encourage each person to work at a pace that is comfortable for them. The classes really give you a good workout and are followed up with great breathing and relaxation exercises at the end. My only regret is not joining earlier.

I have known about the center since for many years and seen how it has benefited those who attend. I moved away and was never able to experience it myself. I have a connection to the staff so when my son was going to start college in the area, I didn't hesitate to reach out. My son is 19 and if you can get a young man to wake up and commit to a schedule you are winning. As a mom my goal to empower my children to be confident in their journey not control it. He goes through the support of the MACH team, 3x a week. He calls me after most lessons and is so excited to tell me about the class. The biggest impact for him he says how positive everyone is. That means a lot coming from his generation where the attention has so much competition. He says, he feels so strong after each session. I had no idea the center would support him in the way it has. More young people, especially young men, need to experience the same impact my son has. Thank you!

I rarely leave reviews, but I truly feel the Martial Arts Center for Health is worth sharing. I recently started taking classes at MACH, and my only regret is not finding this place sooner. The instructors are incredibly patient and genuinely knowledgeable. Every class feels authentic and inspiring. The people here are all warm, kind, and full of positive energy. This place isn’t just a class—it’s a journey. I truly believe everyone should come and try it, because once you do, you’ll fall in love with it.

If you’re looking to do something for both your physical and mental health - you’ve come to the right place. It’s hard to put into words exactly what the Martial Arts Center for Health means to me. For so many years when I lived in Florida, this was a place of grounding and renewal, a place for fostering personal development and connecting with like-minded people. The instructors here are truly some of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. Since moving to Denver, I have been unable to find a place that comes even remotely close to what I’ve experienced here. Luckily (and thanks to technology), I’m now able to link up with the Martial Arts Center for Health from Denver via Zoom for private lessons. I’m so grateful that technology has afforded us the ability to be able to do this! I’d give way more than 5 stars here if I could. 🙂

I absolutely loved the hip opening workshop! The space itself is so bright, clean, and welcoming. The positive welcoming energy coming from everyone in the room allowed me to feel completely at ease in a new space. I loved the knowledge that was shared about our organs and meridians and what effects certain movements would have on them. I loved the bits of knowledge and wisdom being shared while simultaneously being guided into different movements - you walk away with physical and mental growth. I definitely felt a tremendous shift in my overall energy and emotions after the class, as well as several sore muscles of course! But the soreness felt great, not painful but definitely indicative of growth. I am inspired by the experience and would absolutely love to be back!

In the past I would come home from work and lay down in intense pain shooting down my leg. It was so unbearable I would imagine myself cutting off my leg. Have I known the benefits of tai chi I would've joined instead of having failed back surgery which ruined my quality of lifestyle. Tai chi helped me re gain some of the flexibility and reduced my chronic pain lessening the amount of pain pills I used to take on a daily basis. I proudly have to say that it's been months since I last used my cane. As I continue doing tai chi I am confident my health will continue to improve.

The best thing I did for myself this year is finding Martial Arts Center for HealthThis is the best thing I have done for mental, physical and overall health. I was interested in Tai Chi and saw that they also offer Kung Fu, Self Defense and qigong. I was surprised how much I fell in love with going to class and how badly my body needed going. It has truly been life changing and have great respect for the instructors who are very very caring, passionate super qualified and very knowledgeable. They all have been the best support and I feel very lucky to go such a place with so many caring people. I made some friendships that mean so much to me from all different walks of life and enjoy everyday I go to class. I am so much more flexible than when I first started and have noticed small positive changes to my body. I am able to concentrate so much more and even picked up old hobbies since I been really working on my discipline and concentration and this has helped tremendously. Every time I go to class I come out feeling better and proud of myself to have gone. I was taking anti anxiety medication earlier this year and made the personal choice of getting off and this has helped my anxiety so much. I love learning about all the breathing techniques and qigoing practice as well. I still have a long way to go and can’t wait to see what the new year brings. If any friends or family or acquaintances have any questions please reach out- best decision I made for sure. They have a flexible schedule, offer private classes, group classes and kids classes too!

The Martial Arts Center for Health has truly been a blessing in my life. The instructors are very knowledgeable but also kind, patient and supportive. As a result of the support and encouragement of the instructors and owners of the Center, not only have I greatly increased my physical strength and co-ordination but my stress level have also improved. I would encourage anyone to become involved in the Martial Arts Center for Health This is an update to my previous review above. I have now been a student at the Martial Arts Center for Health for 5 years. I am a 55 year old Mental Health Counselor. Because of my training at the Martial Arts Center I am in better shape physically than I have ever been. When I started my training I was having pain in my knees. After working with the instructors for a few months the pain in my knees are gone and my legs are stronger than they have ever been. My training has also helped me to get stronger and more focused mentally and emotionally. I have been able to use these newly developed strengths to meet professional and personal goals outside of my training at the Center.

I have attended the Martial Arts Center for Health (MACH) for about 10 years. I am an allopathic trained physician and Medical Director of a local medical entity. I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have had this condition since I was in my mid 20’s. I was introduced to MACH by a friend, but at first I didn’t go because I thought that I could never do martial arts with my condition, and further, it might be destructive to my joints. I eventually did give it a chance and it is one of the best decisions I’ve made. I have gained in range of motion of some of the joints more severely affected by the condition, and 10 years later I am much stronger, with better balance and flexibility than I had when I started. The instructors take the time to modify the movements depending on what is happening to your body that day (as long as you tell them). They push you to greater strength as you are able, and ask you to decrease your effort depending on the day, your level of fitness, and your situation. My sons have also gone to the MACH for about 10 years. They are now adults, but over the years and in conversation with my sons I’ve seen how the same movements have worked in curiously different ways for two individuals with very different personalities. The introvert gained more confidence, and the extrovert was able to look inward a bit more. I highly recommend this practice and this community to everyone without reservation. There is a great diversity of people here in age, personality, level of physical activity, and the movements are adapted to all. Ronald Ryan, MD

I am writing this review to help people understand the benefits of training my mind and body at the Martial Arts Center for Health. I have had some martial arts training as a young man living in New York. I did enjoy the training but it was kinda violent. I found this school about 15 years ago and trained with my son. We went for awhile but migrated away from it. Well something drew me back to the center and i'm glad it did. I feel so much more confident in my physical abilities and my focus is really improving considerably. I have been playing golf for many many years in an amateur tour setting. I had an auto accident years ago and haven't been winning on the tour. Well after training at the center for about three months I have won 2 tournaments in the last 3 weeks! I am starting to notice a pattern and I attribute my feelings and recent success to my training at the Martial Arts Center for Health. The environment and the trainers are awesome! Chris G.

I have been a member of MACH since August 2022. I've always enjoyed martial arts and was looking for a challenging, comprehensive work out. I have found MACH puts everything together for me. Focus, memory, and physical challenge. Instructors Matt, Scott and Eva are amazing. They are focused on each student reaching their maximum capabilities every class. I love going to class. I get a dexascan for bone density every 2 years. On Monday, I had my test. The results were that my bone density had increased 14% since 2 years ago! That is incredible and I can only attribute it to MACH. Results now from 2 years ago ( same machine and same technician). I went from Osteopenia to normal bone density. You can't get that from vitamins or just diet...I highly recommend MACH for anyone looking for low impact exercise, improvement of focus and memory, and learning martial arts to improve their health and daily living.❤️

The community at Martial Arts Center for Health (MACH) is inspiring. There are students of all ages, walks of life, and levels of skill. The instructors are a very supportive and encouraging team. I have never once felt like I've been talked down to or treated differently because I'm not as good as others. The environment is peaceful and the positive energy envelopes anyone who enters. Every success is celebrated and other students are supportive in your quest to improve. Unlike going to a traditional gym the workouts at MACH are gentle to the body but produce amazing results including an increase in strength, balance, and concentration. If traditional gyms have not worked for you MACH may be the alternative you are looking for.

I became a member in 1998 after breaking my back in a car crash. I am still a member in 2024. That is 26 years! Time tells the story. I can do things at the age of 47 that I could not do in my late teens. Never been on prescription medications. I am pain free. The love, knowledge, community and over all quality of the Martial Arts Center for Health is unique. It shaped me into the woman I am. Confident to welcome life experiences in, accept & face challenges that come along. Love myself in all stages. I am so grateful to be a part of the Martial Arts Center for Health today.

2019: Because of the Martial Arts Center for Health and the OUTSTANDING instructors, I am physically and mentally in the best shape of my life. There are no words to truly explain the difference this place has made for me. (I've been a student for 1-1/2 years.) I aim to attend 4-5 days a week, as it is my "grounding," my "stabilizer," my "center peace." It is not what you think of as traditional martial arts. MACH is about flexibility, mobility, physical and mental strength, focus, movement -- a complete (and very sweaty) workout every time. The classes have plenty of variety so you never get bored. The people who attend are all shapes, sizes, and ages as well as are dealing with various emotional/physical personal challenges. For example, I have pretty severe scoliosis. I was told I'd be "locked up with arthritis" by a medical doctor as I age. I am the farthest thing from that description! You have to stick with MACH to get all the benefits, and be committed. But, when you're hooked like I am, it's guaranteed to be a wonderful part of every day. UPDATE: 2022. I have now been a student of Martial Arts Center for Health for 3+ years. It has transformed every aspect of my life for the better -- emotionally, spiritually, and above all, physically. As I previously mentioned, I have pretty severe scoliosis. I live pain free. My strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and memory have greatly improved. The instructors are fantastic, very patient, and willing to adapt what we’re doing to fit any limitations you may have. Martial Arts Center for Health is a top priority in my life.

I'm forever grateful for the invitation to come to the Martial Arts Center for Health. It has been a life changing experience. I just finished up 6 months of training. In this short amount of time I feel as if I'm on the road of regaining control of my health, both physically and mentally. After spending many years in the gym and competing in body building, it has taken a toll on my body., causing a loss of flexibility and joint pain. But through the martial arts center for health training program, I have experienced amazing transformation. In six months, I have lost 12 lbs, regained flexibility and have energy like never before. The instructors are GREAT. They have a genuine interest in your well being and you can't help but see the passion they have for helping and serving others. They are always encouraging you to come, so that you can get the most out of the program. I'm 55 year of age and would never have thought that I could get so much out of this type of training. This place is AMAZING and I look forward to experiencing the benefits that will come as I continue on this journey. I'm forever grateful for my buddy JT's invite and for the encouragement and commitment of the instructors. Thank you ALL!

I learned about this wonderful place from friend of mine that's been going to this center for many years and really benefited a lot from it. I was going through a difficult time in my life and thought this might be a good place to try out. That ended up being a great decision! The atmosphere here is very friendly and welcoming. It's been great learning a different way to improve my health and with people I now call my friends. The instructors do their best to give you lots of individual attention and to put you at ease and as you learn all the variations of the martial arts they teach. I've been here a year and a half and my body is a lot more toned, stronger and balanced. This is the best preventative care I can think of and and more than a few people here have completely healed very severe physical conditions. I'm a pretty health oriented person and was amazed how much it's taken that to a whole new level. The variety of what they teach is way beyond of what I expected and I love it all! I go almost daily. As an entrepreneur for over 20 years with a busy and varied schedule I like the multiple class times and feel this is the best medicine to manage stress. If you're looking for a nice addition to your life and you're considering martial arts, please give it a try! You'll be glad you did! Janet M

I am someone who has cared about my fitness my whole life. I have practiced Yoga and Cross Fit amongst others. I have to say that the experience the I get at the Martial Arts Center for Health is next level! It is the truest full body program incorporating mind body and soul, similar to Yoga. The biggest difference and advantage over yoga is the pace and intensity. This is do to the instructors expertise level (they all have over 20 yrs experience). They are seamlessly able to have you develop at a pace that suits you while helping you to look deep inside to find the intensity to challenge yourself and go to the next level.

MACH is a great place to develop overall physical conditioning, balance, coordination, endurance and mental focus. The instructors meet with each student individually to determine their goals and learn about any physical limitations or conditions a student may have. MACH is a friendly, non-competitive school where the focus is directed at health. The owners, Thomas and Eva Curtin have created a beautiful space where anyone who is willing, regardless of their age or physical condition, can improve their health and have fun doing it. The roots of the martial arts traditions are respected yet facilitated for the 21st century. As an older student (age 57) who has never participated in martial arts I was concerned about my ability to do well but with the patience and encouragement of the instructors I have made excellent progress. Each week at MACH is new adventure and I’m never bored as the program is always changing. The instructors strive to educate the students about the forms they are learning so classes at MACH aren’t just about physical development but also a learning opportunity. They’re always offering to help students with any questions they may have and know how to help students move past their comfort zones in a safe manner. At the time I enrolled in MACH I had either stopped or greatly reduced the activities I had enjoyed in the past, including bike riding, hiking, swimming and landscaping due to joint pain I was experiencing and lack of endurance. I’m now back to doing the things I enjoy and don’t suffer from joint pain. Not only has my overall physical condition improved but I feel more confidence in my ability to take on new challenges.

I found the Martial Arts Center for Health for my son, mainly for the NO contact rule. Being a single parent I knew he needed something. Well he received a whole lot more! He gained confidence, determination and respect for himself and others. While watching his body and mind change I decided that maybe I would try it out. Here it is 12+ years later and I continue to practice at the center! At 57, I feel stronger, more confident, patient, loving and an awareness of myself that I have never had before. There is much more than martial arts too! There are seminars (beach seminars are the BEST!), events, demonstrations, picnics, workshops and precious friendships just to name a few. I recently attended a Healthy Habits Workshop where I am learning to maintain a healthy lifestyle by what I put into my body. The owners, Thomas & Eva Curtin and the Instructors truly care about each and every one of us. If you or someone you know is looking for a positive, caring environment to improve your health and so much more, I recommend the Martial Arts Center for Health!

I started at MACH sitting in a chair doing the arm movements. My Hip so painful I could not walk, my back stiff from scoliosis and arthritis. The care and love everyone showed got me through the past year and now I walk and move with less pain and stiffness. Matt and Scott are very patient and understanding. They have changed my life. I Thank them and all the members at MACH.
